An interdisciplinary art project at the intersection of design, craft, education, folklore research, and semiotics explores the uniqueness of garlic—a plant with a profound spiritual significance across various cultural traditions. The project takes the form of a process-based exhibition, elevating garlic to a temporary exchange commodity that can be traded for an artistic artifact.
The GMB workspace functions as an open studio inspired by contemporary witchcraft, where a duo of visual artists transforms garlic into a protective amulet for individuals and the community. A key aspect of the project is the cultivation and distribution of garlic in collaboration with the Veronica Foundation, local institutions, and the residents of Blansko over the course of one year.
